So yeah I was bitter when that a#%hole called me in from a good start last week only to ask me why my book was so low for Thursday. I went out at 8 in a radio car cause one of the helpers in the office screwed up and didn’t put me on the schedule. So anyway I’m doing great and get called in the office, well he said. You are 12% below book for Thursday so I’m going to suspend you and you haven’t been doing so great. (especially since I said I didn’t want to rip anyone off with the tunnel). This story will tell you about that http://www.lasvegasnow.com/global/story.asp?s=10655766 I mean how could you get the average when so many are doing 16 rides through the tunnel a day. Each ride is 30 dollars and if you miss two your out of the average. Anyway I’m glad I got fired from Desert because I just can’t work as hard as most of them drivers. Oh yeah that’s what Sandy say’s, he’s the GM. Quote “are you saying that the only way to make average is to go through the tunnel? I could make average and never go on the freeway” Yeah right, he’s out of touch you should hear in the break room at the end of the shift how the drivers brag about long hauling. Anyway who cares?

Getting fired for long hauling
Thursday, July 9th, 2009Losing weight in the Las Vegas Heat
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009Well I’m down 27 pounds from when I began this slow process of weight loss. I say slow because now that I’m begun I want to be done and skinny again. It seems like it will take forever to get rid of this stuff and it probably will. After all it didn’t happen over night. Walking in the afternoon seems like it help if only because I’m literally sweating my ass off. Monday I was in a car with inadequate air and the humidity nearly consumed me. I did have a strange thing happen though. I picked up at Royal Link Golf Course at about 3pm. My passenger began complaining about the heat because he played the first 9 and then had to quit from the heat. I asked if he had been drinking plenty of water and he said he thought he had. I asked if he had a headache and whether he was peeing yellow or not. He said yes to both. When we got to treasure Island I did the usual and turned time off and went to the trunk to get his clubs. He got out of the car and made his way to the back of the car only to puke up his lunch right by the rear of the car. Then he passed out almost landing in the fresh puke. I did the only thing I could think of which was get something for his head and bare arms because the pavement was hot. Then I called for security while I raise his feet and kept him awake. Security came with some ice and a couple cups of water and called 911. By this time there were plenty of people to care for him and I was already late and under average. I couldn’t get another ride so I want to the yard to face the music. Well it didn’t come until this morning when I got suspended for being low book. I have to call tomorrow to see if I’m fired but to tell you the truth, It’s not breaking my heart.
TA gave me a ticket
Thursday, April 16th, 2009I think it’s pretty sneaky to sit behind the wall in the Bill’s parking lot and pick cabs off who are just trying to make a buck. I know, it’s illegal to block traffic but the only cars I was blocking were other cabs waiting to do the same thing. Now I have to work a whole day just to pay this stupid ticket when I can hardly pay my mortgage. Wha wha wha so I got caught and now I’m raggin isn’t that the way of the world? I think it’s only $80, I’m glad it wasn’t for long hauling or something. I couldn’t have gotten one of those since I don’t longhaul, It’s tough being a desert taxi driver.
